Welsh blanket inspired cross stitch keyrings

The keyrings were fairly small, so I could only incorporate a small aspect of each pattern into the keyring. It meant that using less colours would be more effective, using high contrast colours to get the pattern to really stand out.

It's hard to recognise some of the wider patterns as part of a Welsh blanket as it's just the same coverage over the whole keyring, but I think the smaller motifs work well.

I bought some wooden keyring sets online, sanded their edges down to try make them a little smoother and less blunt looking, and sprayed them with some sort of wood stain. I would do a bit more research into how I stain them next time I think. I used a straightforward wood glue to stick the keyring frames to the back, and held them together with some small binder clips.
