Introduction

It was tricky to know how to portray Jesus's Crucifixion on one of my stockings. It's such a monumental scene I just don't think I could have done it justice. I opted therefore to show the moment Jesus's body was carried away to be buried. You can of course use the templates to portray this scene however you would like, according to what you read in the Bible.
Assembling your Stocking

I chose to include three women watching, who are Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome. Mark 15 ends with the two Mary's seeing where Jesus's body is laid, and the three will appear in tomorrow's stocking too.

I used two figures to carry Jesus's body - one representing Joseph of Arimathea, and the other could represent Nicodemus, who is mentioned in another of the Gospels.

I chose to make Jesus's cross more prominent than the others. The two half circles at the feet of the other two crosses are meant to represent the covered bodies of the two thieves, and I tried stitching feet on them to show this. Feel free to leave these out if you want to.
You can watch a brief video of this stocking being assembled on my Facebook or Instagram.
